you are not the veil
you have pulled over you;
you are not the wall
you have built around you;
like sunrays
burning your eyelids,
life hurts;
on the walls it falls.
lift the veils
like your eyelids;
and see,
beyond the edge, stands
not the burning sun,
but a world
of love and beauty.
and so it is
with these words.
if they knock on you,
listen!
they’re saying:
“lift this veil
and see;
there is no poetry,
just you.
and me”
